About US
Meet Our Principal Artist Robin Turnmire
As a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the intersections between math, science and the natural world I have found there to be opportunities to find beauty everywhere.
By using ordinary household items coupled with paint found in the mis-tint sections I hope to create pieces that inspire and highlight the beauty in both ourselves and the world around us.
My intent is to create evocative pieces that blend organic forms with abstract elements, inviting viewers to experience familiar landscapes in new and unexpected ways. Just like us, no two pieces are a like and with every new project my goal is to bring a sense of wonder to those experiencing it.
While I primarily work alone, some of my favorite pieces come from art projects that are created in partnership with the members of our community.
Through this work, I invite you to pause, reflect, and connect more deeply with the world around us.
A Little About Our Studio
Sann Nord Studios isn’t just a single location. While every artist needs space to be creative, it’s just as important to learn to be creative wherever you are. Whether it be in our private studio space or on locations in our community, Sann Nord is a state of mind and is meant to be taken with you everywhere.
Our Story
When Robin returned home to spend time with her ailing dad, Robert Owen, she did not expect her time with him to be so short nor so magical. In the time they had together, they created over 100 paintings using everyday items and mis-tinted paints from local hardware & big box stores. Their abstract paintings reflect the beauty found when we take the time to just enjoy being in each other’s company.
Knowing that our time together was coming to an end, Dad asked that we take a few of his favorites and make them available to the world, thus the last dad & daughter series was created. We hope you enjoy them as much as we did creating them.
